now when i bought this tv i paid 480 plus shipping so when i speak value that is what i am referring to. the tvs that i am comparing it to are my old dynex 32 inch 720p and my dads new samsung 55 inch LED. i bought this tv to upgrade after 3 years with my 32inch and i am not regretting it. though the other reviewer had problems with his xbox360 connection mine has zero problems at all. the 1080p looks amazing and gives more detail than i have ever seen before in my games, cable looks amazing to even though the Fios cable box i have only goes up to 1080i. tested a blu ray as well and that was by far the best. sound quality is not the greatest but even with a set of speakers you can still save money compared to the name brands.

comparing the quality to the samsung there is some noticable difference, but the samsung also cost over 2500. with the haier being an edge lit lED you get problems that are well known with the edge lit technology. brightness at corners and a few other points around the screen are noticable on a solid black picture but when there is any color involved at all it cannot even be detected. watching the dark knight, which is a very dark movie, i looked for the blotches and i could never find them. i will say that the video settings that the tv comes with are terrible. almost all of the people look orange. took me about 15 minutes of adjustments but i got it right.

as far as inputs go, do not be fooled by the picture of inputs on the tvs page because this is not what the backpanel looks like. to save space the component and rca inputs are pigtailed so they require an extra cable that comes with the tv to plug them in. but there is no loss in picture quality as far as i can tell.

if you can get this for a good price, jump on it you will not regret it. if you have any questions just let me know i would be happy to answer

    Pros:
cheap as LEDs come and deffinately worth the price
    plenty of connectivity
amazing picure quality for the price

    Cons:
    sub par speakers
color needs adjusting out of the box
    brighter corners on black screen

I bought the white version of this TV (apparently no longer available) and I don’t have any regrets. The picture quality, design, and quality of the construction are all world class. This is not a value brand TV. It rivals Samsung and LG (probably made in the same plant in China!) Super thin too. Haier (Chinese brand) is investing heavily in in design and enginering for the US market abd desires to be a big league contender, and they don’t want to start out on the wrong foot with consumers. This TV is a great start.

I had purchased this TV at a very good price (~$450). The picture quality was awesome though the sound quality was far from optimal. All went well for almost 3 months and soon a red vertical line appeared on the screen. Called up Haier customer service and their service was the worst. Intially they made me go through a third party vendor who had no idea of what the problem was. After a week’s deliberation, they expressed their inability to fix the problem and I was asked to contact Haier. I ended up calling Haier multiple times and this time they wanted me to cut the power cord and send it to them. I was told that upon investigating the power cord, the main location will send another TV to me. Who in the world will ask to cut a power cord? When I tried to question the same, the customer rep was so rude. They have no empathy towards their customers. After more than 5 calls, I ended up returning the unit to orignal seller (overstock.com) who issued a full refund.
